James was in New York City this week to take part in We’ll Be Together, the Rainforest Fund’s 30th annual benefit concert, MC’d by Robert Downey Jr, produced by Trudie Styler, and featuring an incredible lineup that included Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Shaggy, John Mellencamp, the Eurythmics and more!

The JamesTaylor.com presales for these dates will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, December 3. Please see the Schedule page for full details and presale start times.
To participate in James’s exclusive ticket presales, please make sure you are signed in to your JamesTaylor.com account. If you do not already have a free JamesTaylor.com account, please click here to create one now.
Please remember: the ticket allotment provided to JamesTaylor.com for the fan presales is a very small number of tickets that sell out quickly — sometimes within the first 30 minutes. We apologize in advance for any frustration but our hope in offering the fan presale is that you will have advance opportunity to purchase great seats. Luckily, if you are unable to purchase tickets in presale, you will have a second chance during the public sale.
Pecan pie is an important part of every Taylor-family Thanksgiving! Below is James’s favorite recipe, adapted from the classic Joy Of Cooking. Save us a slice!
James’s Favorite Pecan Pie
Made with white sugar and light corn syrup for mild, sweet, buttery flavor. For a dark pecan pie with a caramel-like taste, substitute light or dark brown sugar and/or dark corn syrup.
USA Today revealed this morning that James has partnered with Audible Inc. to create Break Shot, a one-of-a-kind music and storytelling experience due for release as an Audible Original in early 2020. Break Shot is James’s first-ever spoken-word performance.
Prompted by interviews conducted with music journalist Bill Flanagan at TheBarn, Break Shot is a deeply personal and authentic audio-only memoir featuring personal reflections on James’s childhood, family life and the early days of his career. Music and songs will be woven throughout.
From James:
I’ve known Bill Flanagan and admired his writing forever. So I was happy and relieved that he had agreed to help me gather my thoughts and edit this autobiography of my beginnings, the on-ramp to the road I’ve traveled ever since. A pitcher needs a catcher and a funny and intelligent collaborator can make you seem likewise. To the best of my recollection, I never had much of a memory; but here’s how I remember it… Did I say that already?
James has a busy year ahead — in addition to Break Shot, he is putting the finishing touches on a new album to be released on Fantasy Records in early 2020. Exciting tour news also coming soon!
