The collaboration took place at James’s home studio, TheBarn, in March 2008 and was released on Yo-Yo’s album, Songs of Joy and Peace. How did you choose to include the song, Here Comes the Sun, on your new album?
James suggested it as a solstice song, and I thought it was a wonderful idea. It was actually the first song chosen for Songs of Joy & Peace, and when James suggested it I knew we were on a good path.

Congratulations again to James, Dave O’Donnell and John Pizzarelli for their Grammy win for Best Pop Traditional Vocal Album! Check out what AmericanSongWriter.com had to say about American Standard.
American Standard took home the Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at last night’s Grammy Awards. The win makes James just the third artist in Grammy history to have won both the Pop Vocal Album (for 1997’s Hourglass) and Traditional Pop Vocal categories — quite a feat!
