Arnold McCuller, James’s longtime friend and backing vocalist, has decided to hang up his hat and retire from touring life after almost 50 years on the road with James and so many great artists. While the summer 2022 US tour was Arnold’s last full swing with James and his All-Star Band, Arnold will pop in now and then in the future we hope. Coming up this month: Arnold will join James on August 29 and 30 at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park in Boston. UK fans may catch a glimpse this fall as well.
By way of tribute, click below to see and hear Arnold’s beautiful voice at work on this recent Canadian performance of “Shower The People”.
James’s Late Show with Stephen Colbert residency came to an end with last night’s show. James had a great time sitting in with the talented musicians that make up the show’s house band, Stay Human. Shout out to Louis Cato (guitar), Endea Owens (bass), Nêgah Santos (percussion), Jon Lampley (trumpet), Louis Fouché (saxophone), Joe Saylor (drums) and Larry Goldings (piano)!

James Taylor’s previously announced performance at Beethovensaale in Stuttgart, Germany, has been rescheduled due to logistical issues with the tour. The new date for the show is November 5, 2022.
Previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date. Ticket holders who purchased through JamesTaylor.com or an official ticketing partner will receive an email with refund information today. If you purchased through a third party or do not receive that email, please contact your point of purchase.
To put a close to this great year of touring, click now to see JT and the band in action, performing “As Easy As Rolling Off A Log” on YouTube! The song was taken from an old Merrie Melodies cartoon that James remembered as a kid. Enjoy!

As James wraps up his Summer US tour tomorrow night in Las Vegas ending a full year of touring North America, we take a moment to recognize the incredible 2021/22 JT road crew team for an amazing job well done. The crew teams include guitar/drum/piano technicians, riggers, video, covid compliance, stage, creative, production, audio, automation, lighting, merchandise, touring dept., social media etc. These professionals devoted themselves in the midst of difficult pandemic touring conditions to bring you the best show they could every single concert night.
A special thanks to Jackson Browne and his outstanding crew, staff and master musicians for helping to make so much of this past year the success that it was. It was a privilege and an honor for all involved to have Jackson and his team on the road for so much of the year.
The last shout out goes to the best in the biz: James’s incredible All-Star Band who are: Walt Fowler, Steve Gadd, Larry Goldings, Dorian Holley, Jimmy Johnson, Michael Landau, Lou Marini, Kate Markowitz, Arnold McCuller, Michito Sanchez, Henry Taylor and Andrea Zonn.

James is featured on a star-studded tribute album to the legendary singer/songwriter, Leonard Cohen. Click here to listen to James’s cover of Cohen’s “Coming Back to You” now.
Produced by Larry Klein, Here It Is: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen also includes covers by Norah Jones, Peter Gabriel, Mavis Staples, Sarah McLachlan, Iggy Pop and many more.
Speaking of this project, James gave this quote:
When Larry Klein invited me to participate in a Leonard Cohen tribute album, I accepted immediately. Both because Larry is a great producer of excellent recordings and a good friend. And because, like almost everyone in my generation, I venerate Leonard Cohen. As soon as I began seeking out my own musical preferences, Cohen’s songs were among my few favorites and had a major influence on my own progression as a songwriter. But because I was slow to choose which Cohen song to record for the project, the available choices to me, were relatively obscure pieces. Still, I was drawn to one that was new to me, “Coming Back to You”. Larry was working to a deadline and opted to cut the song in Cohen’s original key, which was certainly at the bottom of my own range. But somehow moving me out of my comfort zone helped me find my own approach to the song. Like so much of Leonard Cohen’s writing, this lyric resonates deeply with his forlorn and hopeless take on the bleak landscape of love and attachment. So, breathe a deep sigh and, drink up…
Here It Is: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen, will be released on October 14, 2022.
