THEHILL.COM — James Taylor to perform at awards ceremony for Ruth Bader Ginsburg this week

James Taylor is set to honor Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg at a star-studded awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., this week.

The “Fire and Rain” singer is poised to perform at the LBJ Liberty & Justice for All Award ceremony at the Library of Congress on Thursday.

The award from the nonprofit LBJ Foundation is given to “those who carry on President Johnson’s legacy, regardless of party affiliation, personifying the mission he defined as our country’s most basic: ‘to right wrong, to do justice, to serve man.’ ”

Among those expected at the awards gala for 86-year-old Ginsburg: “Crazy Rich Asians” star Constance Wu, “The View’s” Sunny Hostin, actress Holland Taylor, “PBS NewsHour” anchor Judy Woodruff and journalist and former White House press secretary Bill Moyers.

Previous recipients of the award include former Presidents Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) and the late Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.).
