James’s cameo in Michael Pollan’s Cooked Series – Episode #1!

Feb 16, 2016

This Friday, February 19, Netflix will launch Cooked, a new documentary series from author Michael Pollan and filmmaker Alex Gibney. Based on Pollan’s 2013 book of the same name, the four-part series examines the evolution of cooking. James appears in the middle of the first episode, in a segment relating to both Pollan’s and James’s pet pigs on Martha’s Vineyard in the ’70s. James also gives a live performance of his song “Mona” (from 1985’s That’s Why I’m Here.) Make sure to watch to the end of the episode for more of James’s performance running over the credits (he gets the last cameo as well!)

Also on Friday, PBS will premiere the latest episode in their long-running series American Masters — Carole King: Natural Woman. The documentary covers Carole’s entire career and features an interview with James, discussing the making of Carole’s classic album, Tapestry. For more information, please visit PBS.org.
