The Nearness of You Concert – In Honor of Michael Brecker

On January 28 James will join Randy Brecker, Hugh Jackman, Patti Austin, Harolyn Blackwell and more for a tribute concert honoring the late Michael Brecker at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Michael Brecker was an award winning saxophonist who featured James on his 2001 album Nearness of You: The Ballad Book. He passed away from leukemia in 2007, and proceeds from this performance will support cancer research. Tickets are going quickly, but a few remain at Jazz.org.

Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration — In theatres one night only!

On February 7, for one night only, The Music Center presents Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration in theatres across the US and Canada. Featuring performances from James as well as Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Rufus Wainwright and more, Joni 75 captures a pair of tribute concerts held in honor of Joni Mitchell’s 75^th birthday this past November.
