Major League Baseball announced earlier this week that James Taylor will sing the National Anthem at Game 2 of the World Series, tonight October 24. James, a loyal Sox fan, has made singing the anthem before game 2’s at Fenway a winning tradition. The Sox went on to win both games that he opened in 2004 and 2007. James will also sing “America The Beautiful”.

Carole King will be honored as the 2014 MusiCares Person of the Year on Jan. 24, 2014, it was announced today by Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the MusiCares Foundation and The Recording Academy, and Bill Silva, Chair of the MusiCares Foundation Board.

In 1971, living in a house he built himself on Martha’s Vineyard, Taylor kept a pet pig named Mona — both were pictured in a Time Magazine cover story that year.
James’s longtime drummer, Steve Gadd, is collaborating with fellow bandmates Larry Goldings, Jimmy Johnson, Walt Fowler and Michael Landau to create the Steve Gadd Band.
