AMERICANSONGWRITER.COM — James Taylor Announces New Album and Summer Tour

Legendary singer songwriter James Taylor recently revealed details for his forthcoming album Before This World, his first album of new material since 2002′s October Road. The ten-song collection was recorded in the songwriter’s own home studio with many of his longtime band members and features nine Taylor originals, plus a cover of the traditional folk song “Wild Mountain Thyme.”

The album is available for pre-order in multiple formats, including 2-disc CD/DVD special edition featuring a 30-minute film documenting the album’s recording process. A “super deluxe” edition comes with a hardbound book and bonus tracks.

In addition to the album announcement, Taylor revealed an extensive summer tour, including a 4th of July show and a Fenway date (8/6) with Bonnie Raitt. Taylor will perform much of his new material 0ver the course of the tour.
