In early 2007 James embarked on the One Man Band Tour, performing shows across the US and the UK in a unique configuration featuring James on guitar/vocal and his "one man band" Larry Goldings, on keyboards. This week's selection from the vault is the opening and first song from the One Man Band concert film. The DVD was taped over three nights at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, MA and released in 2007.

James here. We’re in rehearsals for this summer‘s tour with Jackson Browne, which starts in Chicago on the 29th. I can’t tell you how excited everyone in the band and crew feels about finally seeing you, our audience, again. Some of you have held onto your tickets for the better part of two years. Now, at long last, Jackson and I are going to play those concerts. We studied long and hard over when we might safely go back out and I still think that this August is the right window of time for our return. I hope that most of you have done your duty and gotten vaccinated. We all have and we’re taking all the right steps to be safe as we travel across the country. I want you to be safe too and, with that in mind, I just wanted to encourage anyone who feels like wearing a mask to go ahead and do so. If I were going to a concert in these times, I know I’d mask up. That’s it for now. See you in a minute.

Published by James TaylorComments Off on the time of Ting
Earlier this summer, the Taylor's much loved pug, Ting, passed away. She was 14.
Springtime of the year is all around us and we say good-bye to our beloved Ting, who has lived at the heart of our family for the past 14 years, a time of great love and growth for us. We surrender her spent body to the front yard to lie next to her pal Ray, remembering the days in springtime past when they wrestled in the dappled sunlight outside the laundry room. Such a true and pure love she brought to our years together: the time of Ting.
